WHO IMPREGNATED JOAN?
Introduction
This month we shall be trying to unravel the mystery behind teenage pregnancy. It is no longer news that the best selling product in our world right now is sex and one of the physical effect of sex is pregnancy which most people have learnt to overcome through abortion. However while some people have been able to survive it several others were not able to. Even several girls that got into early marriage as a result of the pregnancy find life so tough that they wished it never happened. So many of them are suffering because of abject poverty which ultimately affects the child.
Week 1 – Who Impregnated Joan?
The following statistics will help our study of this subject this month as we prepare for our annual conference:
- The World Health Organization estimated that 30 million legal abortions and 20 million clandestine (illegal) abortions occurred throughout the world each year in 1995 through 2000.
- In Nigeria, a study found that 72 percent of all deaths among women under age 19 are due to consequences of unsafe abortion.
- Moreover, young women who survive unsafe abortion may suffer complications leading to infertility
- Sexual activity among teenagers in Nigeria is high.
- Studies show that as many as 60% of boys and 48% of girls attending secondary school are sexually experienced by age 19.
- A study in one city showed that 55% of secondary school girls were sexually active before age 16.
- This level of sexual activity gives Nigeria one of the highest rates of teen motherhood in the world.
- As many as 146 out of every 1000 women who give birth in Nigeria are under 19 and 905,000 adolescents give birth annually
- In a study of 127 pregnant school girls in Nigeria:
- 52% were expelled from school,
- 20% were too ashamed to return,
- 15% could not return because their parents refused to pay school fees,
- and 8% were forced to marry.
- Without formal education, career opportunities, or any chance of achieving a desirable social standing, are severely limited
- Teenage girls account for 80% of unsafe abortion complications treated in Nigerian hospitals
- Many of these complications are life-threatening and result in permanent infertility.
- Complications from unsafe abortion are a leading contributor to Nigeria’s maternal mortality ratio: 800 per 100,000 live births.
How do girls that are meant to be in school become pregnant?
Who are the people that impregnate these girls?
Mention some of some of the cases of teenage pregnancy that you have witnessed and what happened to the girl and the guy thereafter.
Week 2 - Why was Joan impregnated?
Ignorance – who is to blame for the ignorance
Love syndrome – How come the guy isn’t willing to accept the pregnancy if he truly loves her.
Pressure – Why are girls not able to say no to sexual pressure from their boyfriends.
Rape – How do we prevent rape? Avoid visiting guys alone and be careful of the drink you are offered. Also avoid wild parties and vulnerable spots.
Misinformation – Is sex a proof of womanhood?
Lack of real men – Is there any man that can be trusted again?
Parental irresponsibility – No show of love and affection by parents.
Cultural beliefs – We naturally believe that ladies are the responsibility of men.
Week 3 - What are the effects of teenage pregnancy?
Let the people narrate different cases that they have witnessed and mention some of the effects on the girl/man.
- Education stops
- Emotional/psychological trauma
- Death/sterility through complications occasioned by abortion
- Forced marriage that they are not prepared for.
- Aborted destiny
- Cancer of the neck of the womb has been attributed to early exposure to sexual activities
- We lose/mess up potential destinies
- Mention other effects
Who suffers the consequence – The guy or the girl?
Is abortion a good option? Why not?
If the girl dies through abortion does the guy die with her?
How much can we trust
Week 4 - How do we prevent teenage pregnancy?
Knowing the devastating effect and the threat teenage pregnancy is posing to the actualization of our dreams what must we do to prevent it?
- Right Information – teach people and get them materials.
- Sense of responsibility – We must be responsible for ourselves and the young girls around us.
- Wealth creation – This will reduce vulnerability
- Positive self esteem – You must love yourself more than your boyfriend/anybody that wants sex from you.
- Right association – Evil communication corrupts good manners
- Accountability – We must hold guys accountable and probe them in their relationships
- Planning – Everybody must be taught to plan their life so that you can know the right time to start a relationship and not because everybody is doing it.
- Vision – We must paint a desired future for our ladies and expose the dangers of teenage pregnancy and abortion pose to the actualization of their dreams
- Mentoring – We must seek to mentor them so that we can raise a new generation of men and women that will be sexually pure.
- Love – We must love the people around us enough to encourage and challenge them and show them what true love is.
- Mention others
We must do everything possible to create enough awareness so that young girls and guys can get it right and cultivate quality friendship instead of getting into sexual relationships which they are not prepared for. We can make it happen and reduce teenage pregnancy in Nigeria

The value you attach to anything in life will determine the virtue you derive from it and your definition of a thing to a large extent will determine how you utilize the thing.
If your definition of an empty carton is a cap then naturally you will put it on your head.
- The story of the village man that was asked to use the Water closet on a visit to Lagos and he stood on it instead of sitting on it.
The greatest problem we have with sex is the definition we have attached to various sex organs and all that concerns sex.
Ask somebody to give you the definition of sex based on what we discussed two months ago?
Week 1 – Breast or Boobs
Most men are moved by a lady’s breast because there is a myth that has been built around the breast for years. The breast has been called a lot of names such that so many ladies don’t even know what the breast is.
Questions
- What comes to your mind as a guy when you see a lady’s breast.
- What do you think the breast is meant for?
- Why do you think most guys are crazy about the breast?
- Why do you think some ladies love to expose their breast?
- What do you think is in the breast?
- If it’s milk how come it doesn’t come until a baby is born?
Composition of the breast
Milk Lobule – This is the milk producing glands of the breast responsible for the production of milk.
Milk Duct – This is the part of the breast that moves the milk from the lobule to the nipple.
Connective tissues and fats – This fills the breast to complete the physiological make-up.
What is the breast - It is the milk manufacturing factory of the woman with a specialized consumer – Infant and secondarily enhances the sexual pleasure in the marriage environment.
An infant doesn’t struggle for milk to come because it comes naturally so anything the breast stares you in the face, redefine it and put it where it belongs.
Question – How must you begin to see a lady’s breast henceforth.
Week 2 – The penis and the sperm
A lot of ladies talk about the penis of guys and several guys also talk about their penis
- What do ladies and guys say about the penis?
- why do men like to compare their penis with each other?

- what do you think is the purpose of the penis
The sperm is the male’s organ that is primarily meant for the emission urine and secondarily act as the passage for the man’s seed when sexually stimulated. When the penis is misused you naturally suffer the consequence and this include weak erection, impotence, stress, anxiety, sperm leakages etc
Sperm – The man’s choiced seed that guarantees the preservation of his future. Explain the sperms based on the principle of the seed.
Week 3 – Vagina Monologue
- What comes to your mind when you hear about a lady’s vagina
- How do ladies perceive their vagina?
- From last month’s study what must we do to a virgin land
- Why do men pay for the vagina and why do ladies use vagina for money?
- What are the effects of using the land for the wrong purpose?
This is the sealed parcel of land of the woman that is exclusively preserved for the king’s cultivation in the marriage season. It has a lot of nerve endings that can stimulate a lady and give her pleasure during sexual intercourse in the marriage season.
Let your members repeat the definition till it sinks into their subconscious. Then let them discuss it.
When you misuse your land you also suffer the consequence such as low self esteem, unwanted pregnancy, sterility etc
Week 4 – Body, Private part and the public parts
Quote – Sex without marital commitment reduces a woman to a hole that must be penetrated at all cost.
- why do we get moved by the body of the opposite sex?
- What is special about the body?
- Is the personality the body or the spirit?
- What do people desire in coca-cola, the bottle or the content
The body is the earth suit/house/container that ensures the legality of the human spirit on planet earth.
A lady’s body is her container and you must develop interest in the person in the container. The same way a guy’s car or good dressing is not who he is.
As the bottle of coca-cola doesn’t get you aroused, never get aroused by the body of the opposite sex. Learn to redefine it.

It is your right to keep your private parts private but when you begin to flaunt your private parts as a public part then you must know that the men have a right to make a demand.

IntroductionSex is universal and great but it has an ideal environment. Most human beings live life as if they are in control of life and as if we are going to be here forever. If we all come to terms with the fact that Bill Gates, Richard Branson, David Oyedepo, Enoch Adeboye, Gamaliel Onosode etc are all human beings like us who live in the same world with us then we would be challenged to aspire to fulfill our destiny. We can do better than they are doing at the moment. Every human being here is here for a purpose but only a few will ever get to truly maximize themselves and get to their destiny. Success has been defined as what you have done compared to what you could have done and that is why we can not settle for mediocrity. But between what we want to become in life and where we are now are some disguised pleasure that will seek to distract us and has already destroyed so many people.

Eventually he had to retire and that was the end of one of the finest players that never fulfilled his potential.

We may never survived AIDS if we fail to control our sexual appetite. You are not yet a news and that is why your fall hasn’t attracted attention but you must know that when you become a news your sex secrets can serve as a blackmail to edge you out of destiny. Imagine if a lady comes out today to talk about how she had sex with Bill Gates, Oyedepo, Adeboye, or how Nelson Mandela sexually abused her. The devil’s best bet against our destiny is to set the sex trap for us. He either uses it to blackmail or kill us. When we do sex as married people, it helps our credibility as role models but when we do it outside marriage, it could have the following effects:

• Lose our trust, integrity and place

Conclusion – Destiny demands diligence. People who get into sex too early cut short their destiny and many never fully recover to take their place. But if we don’t burden ourselves with unnecessary relationships we have enough time for what matters to us and it even opens us up to the right people that will enhance our destiny. If you fail to arrive your destiny, it is your entire fault. It is better you say No to that guy/lady now so that you can keep your focus than get into sex in the name of pleasure and spend the rest of your life as a nobody wherever you are now A word is enough for a wise person. It is all about you.

INTRODUCTION
Imagine if just life expectancy drops to 30 in Africa? You don’t want that to happen right?
Are you aware that 1 out of every 4 ladies and 1 out of every 6 boys have been sexually abused before their 18th birthday?
While some of us were luck not to have been sexually abused, the effect of the abuse is evident in our world today because on a daily basis more girls leave the homes to live in the brothels while more young boys are becoming miscreants and even rapists.
With the innocents minds of our young people being abused on a daily basis by the movie and the music industry coupled with the fact that so many young people are now sexually active which had increased the possibility of contacting the dreaded HIV/AIDS. The goal is to raise 11 right thinking leaders who can also start and manage 11 other sfcs and spread the right sexuality values.

While some of us were luck not to have been sexually abused, the effect of the abuse is evident in our world today because on a daily basis more girls leave the homes to live in the brothels while more young boys are becoming miscreants and even rapists.
With the innocents minds of our young people being abused on a daily basis by the movie and the music industry coupled with the fact that so many young people are now sexually active which had increased the possibility of contacting the dreaded HIV/AIDS. UNMASKING THE MONSTER – SEXUAL ABUSE
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to this year of covenant explosion. We know that it is time to take our sfc to the next level and take more territories.
We are starting the year on a high and that is why we have decided to look into the plague that destroyed our childhood and is still destroying a lot of people.
We shall be looking at child sexual abuse.
For a long time I kept wondering why so many of us seem to have become very helpless when it comes to handling our sexuality? Why would adults (fathers, uncles, brothers etc) want to have sex with the younger ones?
I have related with thousands of young people and most of the ones I met at a point in time were sexually abused by the people close to them including yours truly. So it is not impossible that one child as we are talking right now is being sexually abused. Where were the parents when all these were happening? A young lady told me of how her uncle raped her at age 9, another lady told us of how it was the father (yes you heard me right) that defiled her. How about a lady who told me about how over 5 pastors have slept with her?
You might want to hold these girls responsible for their misfortune but wait before you cast the stone.
- Why would a lady hate the fact that a guy was violating her yet being unable to say no?
- Why would a guy grow up too be sexually active and become uncontrollable with his sexual appetite?
- Why would a father of a lady that is close to 20years run after his daughter’s 18year old friend?
- Why do we have so many teenage pregnancies and the spate of Aristos is on the increase in our campuses?
- Why do we have more young girls join the red light district zone(prostitution) when they are fully aware of the implication of their actions?
- Why do we have so much helplessness around us?
SEXUAL ABUSE
Statistics
Experts estimate that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthdays. This means that in any classroom or neighborhood full of children, there are children who are silently bearing the burden of sexual abuse.
1 in 5 children are sexually solicited while on the Internet.
Nearly 70% of all reported sexual assaults (including assaults on adults) occur to children ages 17 and under.
The median age for reported sexual abuse is 9 years old.
Approximately 20% of the victims of sexual abuse are under age eight.
50% of all victims of forcible sodomy, sexual assault with an object, and forcible fondling are under age twelve.
Most child victims never report the abuse.
Sexually abused children who keep it a secret or who "tell" and are not believed are at greater risk than the general population for psychological, emotional, social, and physical problems, often lasting into adulthood.
It is also likely that you know an abuser. The greatest risk to children doesn't come from strangers but from friends and family.
30-40% of children are abused by family members.
As many as 60% are abused by people the family trusts- abusers frequently try to form a trusting relationship with parents.
Nearly 40% are abused by older or larger children.
People who abuse children look and act just like every one else. In fact, they often go out of their way to appear trustworthy to gain access to children.
Those who sexually abuse children are drawn to settings where they can gain easy access to children, such as sports leagues, faith centers, clubs, and schools.

Week 1
What is sexual abuse?
- Start the session by generating questions that can make the participants to open up i.e How many of us were touched by an elderly person when we were young? Or try to know how many of them used to play daddy and mummy game when they were young?
- Seek to know the content of the play. What were the things they were doing during the daddy and mummy play and where did they learn it from?
Sexual abuse is a situation when the vulnerability of a minor is taken advantage of by a major or a fellow minor for sexual satisfaction. It could be between family relations, friends, guardians (teachers, pastors) etc. one thing that is common is that the intention is for sexual pleasure.
There are basically two types of sexual abuse: the first being sexual abuse by interaction (when the prey is directly touched). Examples of this include –
- Asking a minor to touch your genitals or touching his/her genitals
- Forcefully/subtly trying to force yourself on a minor
- Prolonged and unnecessary sexual touches
The second is the abuse by orientation (when the prey is not directly touched) and this include
- Exposing a minor to pornography
- All the porn magazine and x-rated movies on display
- Songs with strong sex appeal
- Having sex in the presence of a minor (especially parents who live in the same room with their children) etc
The abuser is called the predator while the abused is called the prey.
The predator would usually capitalize on the break in communication between the child and the parents to perpetrate this act. We must however state here that not everybody that was sexually abused remembers. But that you don’t remember doesn’t exempt you from the effect of the abuse as is evident in our world now.
One thing that all the participants must take home at the end of this week is the fact that people who have been sexually abused are naturally re-conditioned at the realm of their thinking to think of themselves as things and not as beings. That is why so many girls find it difficult to say no to men and the men as well couldn’t say no to the ladies.

Conclusion – The bad thing about abuse is that it is a cycle that goes on and on. So you have a situation where the abused goes on to abuse others who also go on to abuse others.

Today shall look at the different reasons why people abuse others
WHY DO PEOPLE ABUSE?
- Past Abuse – people who have been abused abuse others
- Low self esteem – people who have esteem problems take advantage of minors
- Sex addiction – people who are addicted to sex would naturally look for every means to satisfy their urges
- Vengeance – some people who have been violated in the past look for opportunity to inflict the same pain on innocent people.
- exposure to pornography and other forms of sex stimulants
Beware of:
- People you are very free with who cuddle you all the time, they could be using you for sexual pleasure
- People who don’t see anything wrong with pornography
- People who seek to make you watch any form of sexually explicit movie with them
- Adults who call young people their wives
- Movies and songs that are not compatible with your values

Understand why children are afraid to "tell."
The abuser shames the child, points out that the child let it happen, or tells the child that his or her parents will be angry.
The abuser is often manipulative and may try to confuse the child about what is right and wrong.
The abuser sometimes threatens the child or a family member.
Some children who do not initially disclose abuse are ashamed to tell when it happens again.
Children are afraid of disappointing their parents and disrupting the family.
Some children are too young to understand.
Many abusers tell children the abuse is "okay" or a "game."
Week 3
Effects of sexual abuse
Ask the participants to share their experiences when it comes to the effect of sexual abuse
- low self esteem
- suicidal tendency
- sexually promiscuity – some of the victims become very loose
- sexual anorexia – some of the victims detest the opposite sex and settle for same sex relationship
- hatred – they find it very hard to love
- abusive relationships – most of them find themselves in abusive relationships
- unwanted pregnancy
- Sexually transmitted infections – a man confessed to being infected with gonorrhea by his aunt who sexually abused him when he was young and he didn’t know about it till he was married and couldn’t father a child.
- Prostitution – I have never met a prostitute that was not sexually abused
- Secrecy – Victims keep a lot of secrets
- Fits of anger
- Depression
- They also become predators

Solutions to sexual abuse
- Openness – The victim must learn to talk about it to become free.
- Forgiveness – You couldn’t have done anything about the person that abused you so forgive him because most of the predators were also sexually abused
- Channeling – Channel your pain and use your story to heal others
- Stop the cycle- The baton must have been passed to you but it must end with you.
- Mentoring/counseling – Try and look for a trusted counselor (preferable same sex) and submit yourself for accountability.
- God factor – It takes God to heal so ask him to come into your heart and totally heal you.
- Prosecution – The predator could be prosecuted as we have agencies that can take up the case ie media concern against sexual violence for women and children
Conclusion – We must all know that the key to a sexually pure generation is for us to stop sexual abuse. Irrespective of what must have happened in the past to the victim God can give them a fresh start. While they couldn’t have done anything about the past they have another opportunity to take their life back and get it right once again so that a new generation can start with them. Challenge the people to respect the opposite sex and their fellow sex as beings and not use them as things.

For several months, we have been working round the clock to come out with something that will transform the homes. Back to the final part of our undressing sex series I will try and redefine sex in a way I believe will be of help to you and your children.
In 1996, having been troubled by sexual challenges as a teenager for several years. I got to a point that I began to search for a solution and I remember being told several times to go on a spiritual fast to no avail. In my quest for a solution I discovered the problem was not with my genitals; it was with my mind. It was then I realized my definition and interpretation of sex was wrong. I came to the conclusion that ‘Until my belief about sex changed my sex life wouldn’t change’ It was then I sat down and came up with a definition that has transformed several ‘once upon a time’ sex addicts and is still helping many on a daily basis.
Sex is a covenant exchange of life, love and pleasure between the man and the woman in the marriage environment for the purpose of unity, procreation and the expression of marital love.
Please note the following;
Sex is a Covenant exchange – If you combine the medical with the spiritual you will realize that the medical agrees that the male sperms contains a white blood cell while the spiritual agrees that the life of a flesh is in the blood. So when there is sexual intercourse there is a deposit and a withdrawal. The man connects with the woman with his blood and as we know the strongest covenant to break is the blood covenant.

Sex is a covenant exchange of life, love and pleasure between the man and the woman in the marriage environment for the purpose of unity, procreation and the expression of marital love.
